Are you happy with your reporting solution today?
At ECI, we understand that you need better access to your business data. We also know you don't usually need a high-end, programmatic report building tool to create the reports you need to do your job. Empower Reporting Serivces makes it easy to create Reports in the browser and does not require costly development tools.
Empower Reporting Services Scheduler
Empower Reporting Services provides a robust Scheduler
that integrates with Microsoft Reporting Services.
Schedule a report to run once or on a recurring basis
that may begin or end on specific dates. Reports are
delivered via e-mail to one or more recipients as either an
attachment, a link, or both.
The ERS Scheduler provides a library of scheduled
reports to show what is scheduled, for what times, and
who scheduled the report. As with other ERS features, the
Scheduler is integrated with Empower security to ensure
that the individual scheduling reports sees only the data to
which they are authorized.
ECI Global Libraries
The ECI Global Libraries make it possible
to design and run quality reports in a
timely manner. Database administrators
can build and manage queries and
parameters using the Global Libraries and
ECI Test Panel. Business users are able to
design powerful reports built on these prewritten
SQL queries and parameters which
are stored in the global libraries.
Report developers can now produce
custom reports, based on the Microsoft
SQL Server Report Design Language
(RDL) XML schema. Security linked to each
user's profile assures access to only the
data each user is allowed to see.
Global Libraries make it easier for the business and technical sides of the house to work together - each employee handles the
appropriate task. Whether you are providing reporting to in-house employees or external internet clients, the Global Libraries enable
self-service reporting for many users.
How Does Quick Query Work?
A list of available data sources is
automatically displayed. A simple tree-list
provides access to Tables, Views, Stored
Procedures and pre-written SQL Queries
from the Global Query Library. Authoring
a row column report with grouping, sorting
and filtering is a matter of intuitive point
and click. The Query by Example grid
shows available data fields - order and
choose the fields you want.
Specify the report title and date, page
orientation, font size/style, color banding,
grid display, group header/footer, record
count and pagination in the Report
Options section. Choose one or more levels
of grouping. The report is run and displayed in the HTML viewer and can be exported to Excel, PDF, or other file formats, or
deployed to the Microsoft Reporting Server. Reports can be saved as XML .RDL files (Microsoft Report Definition Language) or saved
directly to the ECI Global Report Library.
How does Report Builder Work?
User chooses a Report wizard to create a new Report, or opens an existing report from the Report Library for editing. Table, Chart and Matrix (cross-tab) wizards help you choose fields from the Global Query Library and arrange them on your report. Report fields can be placed in header, body and footer areas, with multi-level grouping, pagination, conditional formatting and charting.
Data and text properties can be configured by row or cell, and formula-controlled. Report objects can be positioned through drag-and-drop. Query and Parameter combinations are made available to users from the Global Libraries. Right click is supported on all report objects for easy access to formatting and properties. Reports are displayed in the HTML viewer and can be exported to Excel, PDF or other file formats, or deployed to Microsoft Reporting Server. Reports can be stored as private reports or published to other users in the organization.
